I have held senior communications positions with Advocis (formerly CAIFA) in Toronto, Stentor Communications in Ottawa and SaskTel in Regina.
I have been responsible for managing staff, developing and maintaining budgets, strategic planning, event planning and managing a variety of communication vehicles.
At Advocis, I was a member of the senior management team. I was in charge of the rebranding of the new Association, Canada's largest for financial advisors, as well as marketing, external advertising and member communications. I was also the executive in charge of the Advocis Communications Group, which published the member's magazine, ran the Advocis website and published a weekly, on-line newsletter.
At Stentor, I was responsible for yearly strategic planning, on-going communication plans for a variety of projects (including the development of an intranet) and special events planning. I was a member of the Stentor Communications' Strategic Planning Council, as well as a coach and designated assignment manager, responsible for the performance evaluations and career planning aspects of several Stentor Communications employees.
At SaskTel, I was project manager for the development of SaskTel's corporate Intranet, The Source. As well as managing a staff of 29 people, I led the Corporate Affairs department's annual planning process and participated in the Corporation's strategic planning process.
As Legislative Bureau Chief with Leader-Star News, I managed a staff of three reporters located in Regina and Saskatoon.
